This Shockwave was created as a piece of the 'Wyndhaven' project. It was intended to be an exploratory activity for 5th grade students that deals with the idea of recessive genes and the work of Mendel. The students would answer questions like:

How are the genes of the different plants different?

How are they the same?

Can you tell just by looking at the plant?

Instructions:

Pass the magnifying glass over the plants to have a look at their DNA. Click the 'next field' button to examine a different set of plants generated according to the rules of genetics.
